Why diets don’t work

You have never failed a diet; diets have failed you!
Likely you haven’t gotten the results you wanted from trying diets. That wasn’t a lack of willpower. In order to change your habits, diets are the wrong approach entirely. In this free 60-minute live workshop, holistic health coach Joey Simsen breaks down the psychology behind why restriction always backfires, what your cravings are actually telling you, and how to make healthy choices feel automatic — no meal plans, no tracking, no starting over.
You’ll walk away with a tool you can use immediately, plus a framework for lasting change that doesn’t require fighting yourself.

About Organiser
In my late twenties, I was diagnosed with persistent depressive disorder and ADHD. For years I treated them as fixed facts about myself — adjusting my expectations downward and building my life around the assumption that low mood, brain fog, and fatigue were simply my baseline.
The shift came when I stopped saying “I am depressed” and started asking “what’s driving this?” That reframe opened a door. Through WILDFIT and the work of Eric Edmeades, I discovered what no diet had ever taught me: food patterns are subconscious, reinforced over decades. Willpower fails because it tries to override those patterns rather than understand them. When I stopped fighting my cravings and got curious about them instead, my choices shifted on their own. Weight moved. Mood stabilised. Years of cycling finally resolved.
Now I work with clients who’ve already done the obvious things — better food, exercise, therapy — and are still stuck. My job is to find the missing piece: why the pattern persists, and how to change it at the root.
